I had never heard of UCO before I went to Grand Valley. It was a little weird to experience charismatic worship for the first time at a prayer meeting. I soon came to feel that the Spirit was using that type of worship to work on my whole spiritual life. Everyone who was a part of UCO was extremely and genuinely nice and interested in helping me in my spiritual walk.

When I was initially introduced to UCO at the beginning of my Junior year I was in desperate need of some structure and accountability in my faith life. My faith was certainly an important part of my life, but unfortunately it was just that: a part of my life. It was something that I had partitioned off into its little time slot on Sunday, and maybe if I wasn’t too tired before I went to bed I would pray a little then too.
